What are Diving Fins?

Diving Fins are pieces of equipment that divers to easily propel themselves underwater. This allows for divers to explore underwater terrains much easily without the need of too much phsyical effort when it comes to kicking and threading water.

What are the different kinds of Diving Fins?

Depending on the diver's needs, Diving Fins come in all different shapes and types. The most common types include the Open Heel, Full Blade, Split and Jet Fins. Open Heel Diving Fins has an open back which gives it its name. They accommodate neoprene booties or other diving boots. This allows for divers to engage in rocky shore dives easily. Full blade Diving Fins are tougher and produces greater propulsion as compared to Split Diving Fins. On the other hand, Split Diving Fins are more efficient as they help to channel surface water in and out of their opening, producing a more effective kick as compared to the Full Blade DIivng Fins where water spills over the sides of the blade during kicks, making them less efficient as a result. Jet Diving Fins are heavy and are commonly used amongst Technical Divers because of their wider and shorter length design. This allows of technical divers to execute more precise manoeuvers, especially dives that invovle multiple cylinders without a DPV as the diving fins have to be strong enough to propel the diver throughout.
